Jeff Hoots with his $31,000 Bass

$100,000 Big Bass Bash - Lake of the Ozarks September 20th & 21st, 2008
A record number of 1,032 anglers came out for their chance to net the $30,000 bass. Due to an increase in entries, we added on 11th and 12th place payouts for all the semi-hourly weigh-ins. This increased the total number of payouts to 102 over the weekend, not including the 12 Early Bird Drawings and numerous sponsor draw prizes.
We want to thank all of the anglers who came out to support the LOZ Big Bass Bash, Cowboy (Mike Foree) for emceeing the event, and family & friends that volunteered their time to make the event a huge success.

Entry Fees:

Jeff Hoots of St. Louis, MO weighed his fish in Saturday afternoon in the 11am-1pm time slot. He reported catching the 6.24 lb bass in the very back of 6 mile cove. Jeff was fishing a 5/16th oz Brown Eakins Jig with a small Green Pumpkin Critter Craw trailer on 15 lb Seaguar line. He flipped that jig in the front of a dock in around 5 feet of water when the $30,000 bass struck.

Charlie Bogard of St. Charles, MO took 2nd place, and was only two one-hundredths from the leader with his 6.22 lb bass weighed in on Saturday in the 1-3pm time slot. Charlie won a total of $16,000.

3rd place overall went to Larry Noah of Carrollton, MO. Larry also weighed his 5.88 lb largemouth in on Sunday in the 7-9am time slot.
He reports catching his bass in the Glaize River Arm near PB1, working a 10 inch green pumpkin Berkley Power Worm behind a dock. That one bass gave Larry a total of $11,000 for the weekend.
