Weather: Clear and cold, 22 degrees at takeoff
A frigidly cold start awaited the 34 teams that arrived at PB2 early Saturday morning. The temperature at take-off was 22 degrees, with a high of 40 forecasted for the day.
The team of Brett Govreau & Jason Schumer placed 1st overall Saturday, weighing in a 5 fish limit
that pushed the scales down to 20.38 lbs, along with 1st big bass with a 6.71 lb. kicker.
Anglers are fishing for their chance to qualify for the 2010 AiA Championship at Lake of the Ozarks on October 16-17, where a guaranteed $30,000 in cash will be awarded to the 1st place team. The top 40% of the total division will be invited to the championship.
Thanks to all the anglers for fishing with us Saturday. We will be back at Lake of the Ozarks on March 20, 2010 for the 3rd Ozarks event of the season.

1st Place:
Brett Govreau & Jason Schumer took 1st place with 20.38 lbs. of Lake of the Ozarks bass. They also had the Big Bass of the day with a 6.71 lb. lunker. Brett & Jason reported fishing from the Glaize arm up to the Tantara area, near the 28 mile marker. They caught their fish on black and blue Omega Custom Tackle jigs, keying in on wood and rocks in 2-8 feet of water. Jason & Brett won a total of $1,538.00. Congratulations Guys!
2nd Place:
Jason Weast and David Mulkey placed 2nd Saturday, weighing in a 5 fish limit that tipped the scales at 17.52 lbs. Dave and Jason fished the Gravois Arm, flipping Omega Custom Tackle jigs behind docks in 2-12 feet
of water. They won a total of $980.00.
3rd Place: The father & son duo of Chris & Denny D'Aquila took 3rd place Saturday, continuing their success from the 1st event. They brought a solid 5 fish to the scales that weighed in at 16.41 lbs. Chris & Denny reported having a scattered bite throughout the day. They fished the mid lake area, throwing crankbaits and white spinnerbaits, with the bite coming between 5 to 10 feet of water. Chris and Denny won a total of $500.00.
